Peter Llewellyn (aka Welly or "Crouchy")
Peter Llewellyn (Welly) was born in Wales in 1979. After spending his younger years modelling in deprived ex-mining towns (and winning the ‘Face of Wales – Young Model of the Year award’ in 1996), Welly attended the University of Exeter in 1998 where he enjoyed himself so much he stayed for an extra year.
After graduating in 2002 Peter moved to London and started his flourishing career as a recruitment consultant. He went on to successfully change his nationality and become English; something he had always dreamed of achieving.
In 2003, at the age of just 24, Welly retired from amateur football due to a ‘mystery’ thigh injury and to take up some more challenging pursuits. He has respectably completed two marathons (London & Berlin), the London Triathlon, the infamous ‘Grizzly’ race and the 3-Peaks Challenge.
Welly loves punishing his body, but somehow seems to be able to do it with a huge grin on his face. His stealth training regime will ensure that he’s a top contender for the LEJOG yellow jersey, but his positive demeanour will ensure that he’s always a winner with his friends.
